Each ALPS Straight Trolling Butt is CNC machined from 6061-T6 marine-grade aluminum and protected by a durable hard-anodized coating. The rigid aluminum construction provides the strength required for demanding offshore fishing while delivering the clean, professional appearance expected on a high-end custom rod.

One of the standout features is ALPS' exclusive No Spin Pinning System. Three locking points help secure the collar, hood and gimbal, reducing the possibility of components rotating or working loose during hard use. This is particularly valuable on heavy trolling rods where substantial pressure can be transferred through the reel seat and butt during long fights with large fish.

The reel seat incorporates knurled and lobed double-locking nuts, providing excellent grip when installing and securing large conventional trolling reels. Universal-style ferrules and threads make the ALPS system suitable for a wide range of custom trolling rod builds and allow compatibility with many commonly used trolling-butt systems.

The long straight configuration provides a traditional offshore trolling rod layout and is available in four sizes to cover line classes ranging from light offshore trolling all the way to dedicated 130 lb big-game tackle.
